Vintage Taurus Pendant - Retro 14k Yellow Gold Astrological Zodiac Gemstone Talisman Charm - Circa 50s Roberts & Belk Fine Symbolic Jewelry

Fantastic vintage circa 1950s era 14k yellow gold Taurus pendant! This collectible talisman has a circular medallion shape, and displays the constellation symbol for Taurus, with it's corresponding lucky dates, zodiac symbol, and the ruling gemstone for the astrological sign. In this particular case, the ruling gemstone for the Taurus zodiac is blue sapphire (this is different than the system for birthstones by month), and the pendant is detailed with a natural blue sapphire cabochon gem. The astrological charm has a textured background, with a curved plate for engraving a name. This collectible medallion is shown modeled on a brand new 14k gold filled 18" chain. A groovy piece of signed fine vintage zodiac jewelry, featuring the fixed earth sign Taurus!

METAL / MATERIAL - 14k yellow gold pendant, 14k gold filled chain, natural blue sapphire cabochon.

MARKINGS / HISTORY - Back of pendant is marked "14k" with a copywright symbol and the maker's mark R&B for Roberts & Belk, who was a prominent English silversmithing and electroplating company established in Sheffield in 1864. The firm was the successor to several earlier businesses that traced their roots to 1810. Known for producing high-quality goods, the company converted to a limited liability company in 1901 and was ultimately acquired by another silversmith, C.J. Vander Ltd., in 1961. The zodiac medallion designs are attributed to the team while under direction of Walter Belk and Christopher Dresser from 1901 to 1961.

CONDITION - Good vintage condition. Yellow gold metal has been professionally polished & cleaned. Little age appropriate patina & wear remains. Designs are very well preserved. Natural gemstone is secure and in great shape. Amazing Taurus medallion necklace!
