Our Story

Fueled by a life-long obsession with all things vintage and antique, sisters Laura Mae & Amanda Jean founded Maejean Vintage on Etsy in 2010 in their parent's basement! The sister duo was seemingly born with an affinity for finding treasures, often where others may unfortunately scrap. The mission of saving priceless heirloom jewelry is at Maejean Vintage’s core. Oftentimes in the jewelry world pieces are melted down and destroyed for their precious metals and Laura and Amanda are always ready to intercept! Maejean Vintage has their own in-house bench jeweler who does an amazing job restoring jewelry that may otherwise be left to be destroyed. Over the years, MJV grew beyond their wildest dreams! The sisters now have over a decade of jewelry industry experience & completed rigorous course and lab work at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America. The Graduate Gemologist sisters, along with their all-women powerhouse, bring knowledge, innovation, and a modern flair to the antique jewelry industry. They now have a beautiful office right in the antiques capital of the United States (Lancaster, PA), with five incredible female employees. The lady league of seven are constantly inspired by the antique heirlooms that come into their possession, and make it their mission to find forever homes where these pieces will be cherished for another lifetime. Laura and Amanda always knew they wanted a career that empowered women, and starting a business on Etsy has allowed them to do just that! The small but fierce business supports seven different households, and in addition, it is Maejean's mission to give back to the local community. Every holiday season we commit to donating a portion of our revenue to non-profits.
