Incredible antique circa 1880s Victorian era gold shell hair brooch! This exceptional statement pin has a gold shell frame, and features black enamel on the front. The front is further embellished with sprays of cultured pearls with a genuine rose cut diamond flower. The backside reveals a glass compartment that encases woven brown hair beneath. The brooch secures with a classic pin backing, and has an added bail so it can be worn as a necklace. A collectible piece of fine Victorian era hair jewelry!

CONDITION - Good antique condition. Gold shell metal has been professionally polished & cleaned. Age appropriate patina & wear remains. Glass and hair are intact and preserved. The glass is secure but does push out on one side. Pin secures as it should, and extends further out from the side of the brooch. Amazing antique hair brooch!
