Beautiful vintage circa 1970s Retro era 14k yellow gold yellow Linde star sapphire and diamond ring! This gorgeous and unique Retro era ring features a slightly greenish yellow created star sapphire from the popular manufacturer, Linde. The feature gem is prong-set in the center of a dome-style open-metal setting with rope and floral motifs. The setting is further accented by four natural round brilliant cut diamonds. Beautiful piece of Retro era jewelry!

METAL / MATERIAL - 14k yellow gold, 1 created yellow star sapphire, 4 natural round brilliant cut diamonds (approx. .14 ctw, H/I color, I1 clarity - due to chip and naturals)

MARKINGS / HISTORY - Inside of band is marked "14k" with a "J" in a circle. Back of created star sapphire appears to have an "L" for Linde Air Products Company, a division of Union Carbide, starting in 1947, famous for their perfect, six-pointed star (asterism) in colors like blue, pink, and green, offering an affordable alternative to natural stones. Their popularity peaked in the mid-20th century, but production ceased in 1974 due to international competition, though other companies now make similar synthetic star corundum.

CONDITION - Good vintage condition. Ring has been professionally cleaned. Minimal age appropriate wear remains, with strong vintage patina. Gemstones are secure. Amazing vintage created star sapphire ring!
