Rare antique Edwardian Era 14k yellow gold seed pearl and black ribbon bar pin, circa 1910s! This unique horizontal brooch contains a hidden hinged compartment at its backside, where the black ribbon is held. The piece's front is adorned with 13 seed pearls. As shown in photos, the black ribbon is removable and could be interchanged with other fabric or other sentiments of similar size. MARKINGS / HISTORY - Stamped 14k with the maker's mark for A.J. Hedges & Co. The firm has roots that trace back to 1837 when it was Alling, Hall & Dodd. The company was in operation until around 1950.

CONDITION - Good antique condition. Details and designs have been beautifully preserved. Very little age consistent wear remains. Amazing antique brooch pin!
