Incredible antique circa 1880s Victorian era 15CT yellow gold onyx and seed pearl hair brooch! This exceptional statement pin is crafted in 15CT English gold, and features a bezel set elongated oval natural black chalcedony (commonly known as onyx). The front is further embellished with a gold starburst design that is encrusted with seed pearls. The backside reveals a glass compartment that encases woven blonde hair beneath. The brooch secures with a classic pin backing, and has an existing bail so it can be converted to a necklace. A collectible piece of fine Victorian era hair jewelry!

MARKINGS / HISTORY - No markings, but metals professionally tested.

CONDITION - Good antique condition. Brooch has been professionally cleaned. Age appropriate patina & wear remains. Glass and hair are intact and preserved. Star design slightly loose, but secure. Pin secures as it should, and extends further out from the side of the brooch. Amazing antique hair brooch!
