Absolutely stunning modern 14k yellow gold and platinum Art Deco style emerald and diamond ring, signed by Edward Petri! This beautiful and substantial ring is a modern cast design in the Art Deco style of jeweler Edward Petri. The asymmetrical buckle style band features a round faceted natural emerald that is approx. .50 carat, and a lovely transparent bluish green hue, prong set in a platinum milgrain setting. METAL / MATERIAL - 14k yellow gold, platinum, one round natural emerald (approx. .50 CT), 15 natural round single cut diamonds (approx. .26 CTW, H/I color, SI clarity)

MARKINGS / HISTORY - The inside of the shank is stamped "14k 90% PLAT" with the maker's mark "Petri" for Edward Petri, a Parisian-trained artisan, who founded Edward Petri Jewelers in Indianapolis in 1922. Prior to opening his Monument Circle shop, he worked at Tiffany & Co. in New York. Petri became renowned for hand-crafting European-style Art Deco jewelry using platinum and rare, fine gemstones. Operating out of the historic vintage location at 20 N. Meridian Street, a 3rd generation master jeweler continues Petri’s legacy using hand-fabrication techniques and the original, turn-of-the-century equipment from the 1890s. Because of the brand's heavy reliance on classic European techniques and the limited scale of custom production, original Edward Petri pieces are highly collectible.
