This lovely circa 1930s ring showcases a gorgeous approx 3.04 carat oval faceted amethyst gemstone with a pretty purple hue, secured in a prong setting. MARKINGS / HISTORY - Inside of band is marked "14K" with a "W" maker's mark for J.R. Wood and Sons. The J.R. Wood & Sons Company was founded by John R. Wood in 1850 in Brooklyn, NY. Their catalog dated 1919, describes the company as, "Diamond cutters, wedding ring makers and manufacturers of fine gold and platinum jewelry."

CONDITION - Good condition. White gold metal has been professionally polished and cleaned. Amethyst secure in prong setting. Minimal age consistent wear and patina remain. Amazing vintage amethyst ring!
