Collectable vintage Art Deco era circa 1930s sterling silver signet style ring! This phenomenal ring features a rectangular faceted simulated amethyst glass stone, that is bezel set. The shoulders of the ring are adorned with classic 30's style geometric and wheat style designs, and the setting is framed with a pretty border. A wonderful piece of fine Art Deco era jewelry, from the renowned jewelry designer Ostby & Barton!

ERA - Circa 1930s / Art Deco

METAL / MATERIAL - Sterling silver simulated amethyst (faceted purple glass).

MARKINGS / HISTORY - Inside of band is marked "OB ST" for Ostby & Barton and sterling silver metal. Ostby (Co-owner of Ostby & Barton) was a first class passenger on the Titanic & was among one of the 1,500 passengers who perished during the tragic iceberg collision. The company was established in 1879 in Providence, Rhode Island. At its time, it was considered one of the leading producers of fine jewelry. The company ceased production in the 1950s. Ostby & Barton jewelry is highly desired by collectors of fine antique jewelry for its beautiful workmanship & historical significance.

CONDITION - Good to fair vintage condition. Sterling silver metal has been professionally polished & cleaned. Age appropriate patina & wear remains to metal. Purple glass stone is secure in setting. Facet functions on stone have some wear, surface abrasions present mainly to underside of stone and are slightly visible from the top. Ring appears to have been previously resized. Lovely signed OB ring!
