Beautiful vintage 1930s Art Deco era sterling silver morpho butterfly wing pendant necklace! This mesmerizing pendant features a freeform iridescent blue morpho butterfly wing, preserved under a clear glass cover. The vintage statement charm contains a beautiful flower design bail and is shown modeled on a brand new 18 inch sterling silver chain that was added by us. An incredible piece of Art Deco era jewelry!

MARKINGS / HISTORY - Chain clasp is marked '925' and back of pendant is marked 'TM Co Sterling England' for Thomas L. Mott. Butterfly wing jewelry's popularity soared in 1924 due to a feature at the British Empire Exhibition by the firm Thomas L. Mott. It remained very popular in England well into the 1930s and subsequently also became a trend in the U.S.
CONDITION - Good vintage condition. Sterling silver metal has been professionally polished & cleaned. Butterfly wing has been preserved. Very little age appropriate patina & wear remains to metal. Flower bail only contains two petals (originally, there were likely 3). Amazing vintage butterfly wing necklace!
